Plein Air Painter in Griswold CT

This painting of the Slater Library in Griswold CT was a challenge because it is the busiest corner in
town. I parked at Chucky’s Gas Station while cars, trucks, and motorcycle’s came to screeching halts at the lights and pulled in and out in front of me for gas. Yet,
I was able to achieve this painting! A tribute to a time of beauty struggling to stay alive in today’s world. A tribute to my mother who worked here every Wednesday and Saturday because of her love of books.

Dorothy,
I greatly enjoyed your website and all your paintings are beautiful. you have really capture a lot of the area's charm. I stopped painting about 6 to 8 years ago. Depression has a way of draining the color from your life. Seeing your painting today on the Griswold Facebook Group really inspired me. I saw the site in such a clear unmuddied fashion.
