Billy’s View @ Pleasant View Griswold, Connecticut
The beautiful old oak split and fell one day barely missing the house. I was in my little studio. The shaking of my desk and the noise from Mother’s China on the kitchen hutch klinging and ringing away reminded me of an earthquake in San Francisco. When I ran outside, this beautiful tree was on the ground inches from the house. Our neighbors were there and said, “Call Billy.” So now his view from his comfy chair on the front porch no longer includes the oak. I truly enjoyed Billy’s comfy chair while painting our neighbor’s house. I love the Griswold houses that are built close to the road like this one. They were built for function and some are dated back to before we were a country like my family.
